Dr. Joanne J. Dobbins is a microbiologist currently collaborating with the Louisville Zoo in monitoring mold populations in various exotic animal exhibits. One study, of the penguin exhibit, has continued for several years.
She has served as a microbial consultant to several industry, clinical, and environmental entities and has collaborated in research projects as diverse as microbial viability on seeds in space to the original Artificial Heart Research Project.
